Discussion: Katy Perry, then or now? Feb 5th 2013, 04:11 THEN OR NOW? American singer-songwriter Katy Perry has made quite the transformation. Her major-label debut One of the Boys was filled with edge, angst, and remarkably witty lyrics. Her image was closely tied to that. Katy was "one of the boys". Perry however, ventured down a more "purely pop" route with the follow-up Teenage Dream, where the music was far more sugar-coated and likewise could be said about the way she presented herself as an artist. Which "Katy" do you prefer? :) Take into account both albums, singles, music videos, image and live performances.
