Dave Grohl has slammed Britney Spears while hosting the Chelsea Lately Show.
Taking over from Chelsea Handler ahead of the Grammy Awards, the rocker mocked the singer's rumoured move to Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday night.
The Foo Fighters front man joked along with the panel of comedians claiming the Toxic singer had not landed the potentially very lucrative deal to play at Planet Hollywood casino as her residency had been passed over in favour of a hypnotist.
The rocker then struck a bit close to home making fun of the singer - who had a very public meltdown - branding her empty.
'She just kind of seems dead inside, like there's nothing behind her eyes,' the former drummer of Nirvana said.
Then in an attempt to make it clear he was joking, Dave continued: 'Like there's nothing in her boobs anymore.'
While the joke got the rocker big laughs from the show's audience he may soon find himself facing criticism from Britney's loyal legion of fans.
On Tuesday Britney's manager told Extra she is close to signing a deal for a residency in Las Vegas.
Larry Rudolph revealed they are currently trying to choose between two casinos, one of which is part of Caesars Entertainment Group, and the deal will be finalised as soon as they decide where to base the show.
He told Extra: 'We are in deep negotiations and I'd be shocked if it didn't happen.
'Hoping to have a deal done very soon.'
The 31-year-old announced she would not be returning as a X Factor judge last month, leaving the door open for her to sign on to a residency.
She was also recently said to be in discussions with Planet Hollywood.
And it is not just her manager who is hinting at the new job - Britney's dog is also spilling the beans.
A tweet on her dog Hannah's Twitter account said: 'Mommy, are dogs allowed to gamble in Vegas? Gonna cash all my bones in for chips.'
Britney then replied: 'I don't think so honey #VivaLasVegas'.
The singer recently split with her fiance and former manager Jason Trawick and a source has reportedly questioned the star's ability to cope with such a performance schedule.
The source said: 'I'm not sure just how good an idea Vegas is for Britney right now. If she can't handle The X Factor - how will she be able to perform five days a week in Vegas?'
