Poll: Is WANEGBT the reason of Red's success? (album sales wise)
Dec 31st 2012, 20:50

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is arguably the most pop-ish lead single in Taylor Swift's career, released out of the blue yet went on to become the biggest female digital debut in history with over 600K downloads. Red turned out to sell 1.2M first week, the biggest opening week sales in the last 10 years, and it is on track to go at least 4x platinum when the era ends.
However, there has always been the common opinion among ATRLers that pop smashes don't exactly guarantee the album's success (Call Me Maybe and even We Found Love for instance.) But in this case, do you think WANEGBT was one of the reasons for Red's success, or it was because of Taylor Swift herself, who has always been a huge album seller and Red would've still done well with another lead single? Discuss.
