Avril Lavigne will be back soon with a new album, and the fifth successor of "Goodbye Lullaby", released in spring 2011 but didn't really make an impact, despite some beautiful ballads. According to the label of the Canadian singer, her new album could come out as early as March. This is the calm before the storm. For several weeks, Avril Lavigne and her team have been sealed in silence. They have released absolutely no information about the fifth album from the Canadian star, even though an estimated release was mentioned in various interviews and on social networks a few months ago. Avril Lavigne is now giving the finishing touches to her new songs. The label Jive / Epic (Sony Music) announced that the new album from the "My Happy Ending" singer could emerge as early as March, two years after "Goodbye Lullaby," her latest album to date. In regards to the type of record this will be, we do not know much else than what the artist has said in her last interview. Avril Lavigne had explained that she was working on a new album. "I have eight songs, I want to publish this fifth album very quickly! ", She told the American press last year. The creative process even seemed well underway: "My last album was softer. The next one will be pop and more fun. I already have a song that I'm sure will be a single, I just need to re-record it. " Avril Lavigne has worked with executive LA Reid for this project. He worked with Kanye West, Pink, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and many more. Avril Lavigne has already worked with him on the album "Let Go" (2002), which released the hits "Complicated" and "I'm With You". It will be a fun disc in comparison to"Goodbye Lullaby" which was heavily loaded with romantic ballads, and witnessed a shift towards more mature titles like the "Wish You Were Here" and "Goodbye". But "Goodbye Lullaby" has not generated much enthusiasm as its predecessors. The singles "What The Hell" and "Smile" received mass reviews and radio play on a small scale, but "Goodbye Lullaby" has attracted 1.4 million listeners worldwide, including 25,000 in France alone, which is nothing when looking at "The Best Damn Thing" (2007) that has sold over 6 million copies, including over 100,000 in France. |
