Poll: Is EDM music in mainstream pop still on its way out? Nov 25th 2012, 07:12 In early-mid 2012, we saw the dancepop trend begin to struggle when indie hits like We Are Young shot to #1 while dance and breakdown-based songs like Where Have You Been failed to make as much of a huge impact as they did in 2011. However, in the end of the year, we've been seeing a bit more of dance come back into the mainstream. Songs like Die Young and Let Me Love You are becoming huge radio smashes and the pop girls are delving even deeper into EDM than they did with their past releases. This along with the rumors of Gaga and Katy working with the likes of Zedd and Madeon makes it apparent that the pop girls are trying to keep this dance trend alive. That being said, do you think that the EDM and dancepop trend will be staying for a bit longer? Or will this push by the pop girls end up failing? Discuss.
