Serious Question.
With the much criticized rule changes that took place last month, when will Carrie most likely see another Hot Country Songs #1 peak? She has amazing airplay on country, but her airplay on HAC + AC usually isn't strong enough compared to other crossover artists. As well she's stated she'll never promote a song as a pop song and is okay with it naturally crossing over but she wants nothing to do with it. (She ended her deal with Arista New York almost right away)
Blown Away, which was suppose to be #1, peaked digitally before the rule changes making it's chance to peak at #1 on the new chart impossible - all though it's one of Carrie's biggest hits since the Some Hearts era.
She'll continue to get #1s on the Country Airplay chart, but it's possible Carrie won't get another #1 until her next lead single now.
Discuss. :coffee2:
