Discussion: What Is It About Men?: The Adult Contemporary Rate
Sep 11th 2012, 00:45

There's nothing like a nice looking man with a great voice that plays an instrument… What Is It About Men?: The Adult Contemporary Rate will be pinning some of AC's finest up against each other and we'll be determining who will come up on top.

All American. All singer-songwriters. 12 artists. 5 guitars. 3 idols. 2 R&B acts. 1 guyliner.

The men in this rate have dominated the charts of Adult-Pop (Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Daughtry, Kris Allen) , Hot AC (John Mayer, The Fray, Jon McLaughlin), R&B/Urban AC (John Legend, Robin Thicke) and even the Pop (Adam Lambert, OneRepublic, Bruno Mars) charts but most importantly graced our hearts with their soulful voices, ballad-heavy and feel good songs.
We'll be rating 83 singles! But don't get discouraged, these are songs that will soon become (or already is) a classic: "I'm Yours", "What About Now", "Grenade", "Daughters", "You Found Me", "Apologize", "I Don't Wanna Be", "Ordinary People", "Your Is a Wonderland Body" …the lists goes on. Competition is stiff, I mean stiff! So please help us find out who will reign supreme on the AC scene.

Rating:
Listen to the singles.
Rate each single on a scale of 0 – 10, 10 being the greatest.

Suggestion:
I'm positive you guys are familiar with quite a few of the songs in the rate, they are all pretty popular – these are staples on the radio stations, c'mon now!
If you're hesitant to vote then I suggest you break the songs down into groups. Rate and send four or three artists a day or a week and then rate another three or four artists the next day or next week (I don't care how you do it just participate).

Due Date:
September 24th, 2012

The Countdown (so far)

TBD

Note:
- There were cut-offs. I could not include every single in each artists disc. I'm sure you guys wouldn't want to rate over 100 songs. Only successful songs on Adult formats were included because this is obviously about AC.
- No specialty singles, promotional singles, or digital singles.
- No guest appearances.
- Singles that have never charted anywhere, especially on the following: Adult AC, Adult-Pop and Contemporary R&B or any American chart were excluded.
But of course I made a few exceptions for some artists just to diversify the rate.
