Discussion: Billboard Artist of the Year 2012? Sep 9th 2012, 23:19 I'm a little bit puzzled at the moment. Who do you think is in the lead for this year's Billboard Artist of the Year on Year-End chart? There hasn't been one huge leader like last year with Adele, so it's not as easy to predict. Do you think Adele is ahead so far considering the cut off period? Since the tracking period starts around November means all of last year's holiday sales for 21 will be counted for this year's chart. So Adele is around at least 6m albums sold + a very successful chart run for SFTTR + RITD still charting for 20+ weeks since November, same for SLY + RHI having some chart run too + 21 still being in top 10. Do you think anyone could stop her this year before November? Or could it be Rihanna with 10 weeks at #1 + 1m albums sold + a semi-successful WHYB single? Pretty certain it won't be Taylor even if her albums sells 1m first week, since she will be so far behind 21 no matter what. Thoughts? Did I miss someone?
